There are only a certain number of people allowed in per day

Inca Trail Availibility

You can see this information on our chart.  There is a limit on the number of people who can enter per day.  It is a good idea to reserve in advance because of this.

Huayna Picchu

Huayna Picchu is the mountain on the other side of the valley.  You can climb this mountain, and see Machu Picchu from above. It takes about 50 minutes to climb and another 50 to get back down. There are also a limited number of people who can climb Huayna Picchu every day.

Alternative Inca Trails

There are alternative Inca Trails other than the standard 4 day one. One is only 2 days and another can be done by bike.  These are good for people who want to do something different, or do not have time to do the 4 day one.

Other ways to get there.

You don’t have to take the Inca Trail, there are buses and trains also.  These can be taken from Cusco. Many people prefer the Inca Trail, so that they can go there the same way the Incas did, but taking the bus or train saves time.

When to go

If you come during the rainy season, it is likely to rain, and this will make it more difficult to do the Inca Trail. However, there are less visitors during the rainy season. It is a great experience any time of the year, but it can be easier during the dry season.
