The city was founded in the 1500’s, but people lived in the area long before that, and many of their buildings still exist. Lima City Tour – Half a Day Tour

Our staff will pick you up from your hotel in Miraflores, San Isidro, etc. at around 09:15 am / 14:15 pm to take you to our bus to start the tour of Lima and its surroundings:

The fist attraction we will see in Lima is the Pucllana Pyramid, which was built in the 4th century A.D.  It was a ceremonial center, and was considered sacred by the Incas. during the tour you will learn more about the people who lived here at the time it was built.

We will go on to the Center of Lima, where you will be able to see Colonial-era buildings, the Paseo de la República, San Martín Square, the Main Square, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, and the City Palace. We will visit the Museum of the Banco Central de Reserva*, where we will see the Treasures of Peru collection, a fine selection of objects made of gold, ceramics and textiles from different pre-Columbian cultures. Then we will visit the monumental San Francisco Convent, which displays the largest collection of religious art in the Americas.  We will also visit the underground vaults, known as Catacumbas or Catacombs.

Finally we will visit some traditional residential areas of Lima, such as El Olivar de San Isidro, Miraflores and the Larcomar mall. *The Museum of the “Banco Central de Reserva” is closed on Monday all day, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. The tour lasts about 3 ½ hours and ends with transfer back to your hotel in Lima.

This tour can be done at morning or during the afternoon.
