The Inca Trail permits are not officialy released yet for 2019 season. This release is planned for October 2018. Weather in May 2019
Weather divides in two main season during the year, the dry winter season from April to September, and wet summer season from October to March. The temperate average in May is 18 °C, keep in mind that in a high altitude the temperature you feel is higher. 8 hours sunshine per day and 6 days per month approximately as rainy days. Nights get chilly to 0 °C.

- 3 May – Cruz Velacuy – Festival of the Crosses- This is a religious festivity brought by the Spanish and celebrated in Cusco and throughout the Andean region.
- Señor de Qoyllor riti. Pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Qoyllor riti in a snow mountain. People climb the mountain dancing and praying. Up in the church there is a traditional fair of souvenirs and religious items.
- Señor de Choquekillka. It’s the patron festival of Ollantaytambo, and includes numerous processions and celebrations.
