1. It’s cold at night
Cuzco often has hot weather, but at night, and even sometimes during the day, it can get very cold, and even below freezing. You can bring some clothes for warm weather, but clothes for cold weather are a must in Cuzco.
2. Altitude
Cuzco is located at 3400 m so when you get there, take at least a day to get used to it. Don’t assume that because you feel normal when you arrive that you can start walking a lot or doing other physical activities right away.
3. Book early for Inca Trail
Tickets are on a first come first serve basis, and they are often sold out months in advance. You can check our chart to see if there are available spaces for a certain day.
4. December-March
During this time period it rains almost every day. Sometimes it rains very hard and streets can be filled with water. It might not rain on some days during this period, but usually there is at least some rain every day. It may rain during other months but it is uncommon. Keep in mind that even though it is rainy season here, Tourism industry never stops, just some delays due to rain factors but then it normally flows.
