Also, as a World Heritage Site, it is not allowed to modify the original structure neither the surrounding environment.
This has made quite a challenge the access for wheelchairs to Machu Picchu. Currently, the access from the entrance gate is until the end of a short stoned runway where you can have part of the classic portrait view of Machu Picchu. To go further, some extra help will be needed to take the wheelchair by the stairs.

About the Machu Picchu in a Wheelchair Private Tour
The tour starts in the city of Cusco. You will be taken from your hotel to the train station in Ollantaytambo in a private van. Once in the train station you will take the Expedition train to the town of Aguas Calientes.
