September Permits: Inca Trail Availability for SEPTEMBER 2018

The Classic Inca Trail is by far one best trekking in the world leading to one of the World’s wonder Machu Picchu. As long as permits to hike the Classic Inca Trail are limited we strongly recommend to book the trek as early as possible. The Inca Trail permits are not officialy released yet for 2019 season. This release is planned for October 2018. However, as the permits for the first months of the season are quickly sold, you can pre book them in our contact form. You can also check avaiability for other months in the following table:

Alternative tours to Machu Picchu

In 2004 the Peruvian government regulated the traditional Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, limiting total number of people per day to 500 including staff and trekkers. Especially on high season permits can be sold out months before, for this reason alternative tours were created. We offer them for you if there is no availability for the Classic Inca Trail on a month you were requesting.

Short Inca Trail

Short Inca Trail (2D/1N) is one of the most alternative tours for the Classic Inca Trail. This trek gives you opportunity still to experience the Inca Trail and explore Machu Picchu on the second day of the trek. You will hike the last part of the original Inca Trail and skip all the camping, instead staying in a hostel or hotel. If you are short on time or permits were sold out and you were looking for Inca Trail only this trek is for you! Weather in September 2018

While Inca Trail weather divides in two main seasons which are dry and wet season. Dry season is called winter, starts from April to September and it is also the peak season in Peru and Cusco because of minimum of rain. Summer, the wet season starts in October until March. The average daytime temperature during the September is 18°C and comes with around 8 to 10 days of rain. September still brings many sunny days and is perfect for hiking.

  • 8 September. Virgen de Natividad. Mass is held for the Virgin, whose image is carried by a procession of colorfully dressed musicians and dancers, normally celebrates all little villages, but biggest event is host in Cusco.
  • 14 September. Senor de Huanca (Lord of Huanca). Opportunity to see a combination of Catholicism and local traditions in Cusco.
  • Third Sunday in September. Warachicuy is a festival dating back to Inca times, and was traditionally intended as an initiation ceremony for young men.
  • 30 September. Corpus of San Jeronimo. The festivity of San Jeronimo is celebrated around this saint’s parish church in the vicinity of Cusco with dances and processions.
